τὴ̣ν ἐπιστολὴν τοῦτον ἀπολῦσαι καὶ μὴ κρατήσῃς αὐτὸν
μίαν
ἡμέραν καὶ μόνον
τοῦτο̣ν̣ ἀπ]ό̣λυ̣σο̣ν̣. εἰς τὸν γὰρ κύριν
Ἰωάννην τὸν δοῦκα ἦλθεν τὸ πρᾶγμα̣
μὴ̣ ο̣ὖν κρατήσῃς αὐτὸν ἀλλὰ ἀπόλυσον τὸν ἔχεις ἐκεῖ καὶ μὴ ζητήσῃς

Since the scribes have come for the sake of his son and are willing to receive this letter to release him and not to hold him for one day and only this, release him. For the matter has come to the lord John the duke. Therefore, do not hold him but release the one you have there and do not seek to hold him.

"Since the letter-carriers have come on behalf of his son, please be willing, upon receiving the letter, to release him and do not detain him even for a single day, but release him immediately.
