Artemidorus to Panakestor, greetings. As I was arriving at Bubastis to Memphis, Apollonius ordered me especially to go to you, and if not, to send someone from me who will announce to you what is from him. For he has heard that not all the land is sown with the myriad acres. Therefore, he arranged to announce to you so that all may be cut down and watered, and especially so that you may sow all of it; if not, as much as you are able to sow. [Let it be sown and do not delay any part of the land. Since I am not able to come because I am being disturbed, I have written and sent to you, so that you may know and do accordingly. For he arranged to hire and to send in large numbers those who are sowing and those assisting them. Therefore, as long as it is still the time to sow, do so. I have also announced to Zenon and to Artemidorus in Memphis, as Apollonius has commanded me, so that they may provide you with as much copper as you need for these things. Therefore, take it; for it will be given to you. They also said now to Maron (a drachma). Farewell. (Year) 38, of Apellaius. To Philadelphia. Panakestor. (Year) 38, of Athyr. Artemidorus.

Artemidoros to Panakestor, greetings. When I was coming from Bubastos to Memphis, Apollonios instructed me especially to come to you personally, or if not, to send someone from me who would report to you his instructions. For he had heard that not all of the land—the ten thousand arourai—is being sown. He therefore ordered me to inform you that all of it should be plowed and irrigated, and especially that you should sow all of it; but if not, as much as you are able to sow. [...] let it be sown with sesame, and let no part of the land remain idle. Since I myself have not been able to come due to being occupied, I have written and sent [this] to you, so that you may know and act accordingly. For he instructed that you hire and send out immediately the sowers, the hoe-workers, and those who will assist them. Therefore, while there is still time to sow, do so. I have also informed Zenon and Artemidoros in Memphis, as Apollonios instructed me, so that they may supply you with copper money, as much as you may need for these purposes. Therefore, take it; for it will be given to you. They also said that now [they gave] one drachma to Maron. Farewell. Year 29, Apellaios 2. To Philadelphia. To Panakestor. Year 29, Hathyr 9. Artemidoros.
