In the reign of our most divine lord Flavius Heraclius, the eternal Augustus, emperor, in the fifth year, on the twelfth day of Phaophi, in the fourth indiction. †
☧ I, Aurelius Papnuthis, son of Victor and of the mother Irene, farmer from [unclear] of the scholasticus,
[promise] new wine of the finest and most acceptable measure from your jar, without dispute or lawsuit.
If I do not give you the wine of two hundred forty jars (*),
I agree to give you, for their value, four gold solidi at my own risk and that of my property.
This document is valid and secure, and [having been questioned, I have agreed].
