"In the reign of Ptolemy son of Ptolemy and Berenice, of the gods Euergetes, in the eighth year, during the priesthood of Ptolemy son of Ptolemy, of the dynasty of the son of Alexander and of the gods Saviors and of the gods Brothers and of the gods Euergetes and of the gods Brothers of Philopators, of the priestess Arsinoe Philadelphus, of Arsinoe daughter of Sosibius, in the month of Dios, in Tholth of the Oxyrhynchite nomos. Nikanthros son of Kyrenaikos of the lineage has received from Sogenes the Macedonian commander of the Indii a bronze legal eye-opener against the registered witnesses, four hundred drachmas as the price of the existing female donkeys, three, one black, and two white. These four hundred drachmas are the remainder of the tax of the bathhouse in Tholth, which Nikanthros owes for the eighth year, neither to be paid nor to be collected from Nikanthros nor from any other on his behalf concerning these donkeys nor concerning the offspring born from them, in the presence of the one responsible. If Nikanthros or another comes on his behalf to Sogenes in any manner, the entry of the one going shall be invalid, and let Nikanthros or the one coming on his behalf to Sogenes in every entry pay a thousand drachmas of silver, and let the action be with Sogenes from Nikanthros and the one going on his behalf acting according to the diagram."
