Aurelius John, a farmer, son of the blessed Joseph from the village of Peenpebich of the Heracleopolitan nomos, to Aurelius Henoch, son of Apollo from the same village. Since according to the petitions presented to you from my side, you have come to the guarantee for me from Flavius Phoibammon, the most illustrious and distinguished and governor of this city of Heraclea, I confess that whenever I am sought by the aforementioned most distinguished man (*), I am ready to present myself and to defend myself before the (*) person seeking me and to make it so that I am not disturbed (*) on account of such a response; but if I do not do this, and if (*) it happens that you are the one who is liable for the damage (*) to stand in for me, so that you have the freedom and authority to take charge of all my affairs and to sell from it ( ) and to set forth and to give in another way, until what is sufficient for you comes to be.
