Translation

Chrysermos, priest and chief judge of the Oxyrhynchus, greets (the general). Let the copy of the given memorandum be transmitted as it is stated. Farewell. In the tenth year of the Emperor Caesar Trajan Hadrian Augustus.

To Chrysermos, who has become a priest of Alexander, founder of the city and of the ages, he shall be a chief judge and in charge of the management of the financiers and of the other courts from Eudaimon the younger of the Pet- urius and Apollonius from the city of Oxyrhynchus. I owe to Apollonius the son of Sarapion, Apollonius, mother of Didymus, from the same city of Oxyrhynchus, according to the written security that has occurred in the third year of the Lord Hadrian, in the month of New Sebastos, eight drachmas of silver, of which he has agreed to pay in the thirtieth of Tubi of the same year or to pay the overdue interest in drachmas, and of the payment not having occurred, I request to write to the general of Oxyrhynchus to send him a copy of this, so that I may be paid the principal amount and the overdue interest or if he knows that I will do the deed as it is fitting from his existing resources.
