Σεπτιμίῳ Παύλῳ καὶ Κλαυδίῳ Τατιανῷ ῥιπαρίοις Ὀξυρυγχίτου
παρὰ Αὐρηλίων Γαΐου καὶ Θέωνος ἀμφοτέρων
νυκτοστρατήγων τῆς αὐτῆς
πόλεως. τῶν εἰρηνικῶν τὴν φροντίδα ἀναδεδοιημενοι

πουργοῦμεν τοῖς δημοσίοις ἐπιτάγμασι ἐπανέχοντες δὲ
καὶ τῇ παραφυλακῇ τῆς πόλεως, ἀναγκαζόμεθα δὲ συνεχῶς
ἕνεκεν τῆς παραστάσεως διαφόρων προσώπων κατὰ πρόσταγμα
τῶν κυρίων μου τῶν μινζόνων
ἡμῶν ἀρχόντων, καὶ μὴ ἐχόντων
ἡμῶν τὴν βοήθειαν εἴτʼ οὖν τοὺς δημοσίους καὶ τοὺς ἐφοδευτὰς
πολλάκεις
σχεδὸν εἰπε͂ν
εἰς ψυχὴν ἐκεινδυνεύσαμεν
διὰ τὸ
τούτους παρʼ ἡμῶν ἀπεσπᾶσθαι μόνοι περιερχόμενοι
τὴν πόλιν καὶ κατοπτεύοντες. διὰ τοῦτο ἑαυτοὺς ἀσφαλισζόμενοι
τούςδε τοὺς λιβέλλους ἐπιδίδομεν ἀξιοῦντες ἢ τὴν προσήκουσαν
ἡμῖν βοήθιαν
τούς τε δημοσίους καὶ τοὺς ἐφοδευτὰς ὡς προείπαμεν
παραδοῦναι ἢ τὸ ἀνενόχλητον
ἡμᾶς ἔχειν περί τε τῆς παραφυλακῆς
τῆς πόλεως καὶ περὶ τῆς παραστάσεως τῶν ζητουμένων προσώ-
πων, ἵνα μὴ ὑ
παίτιοι γενώμεθα κινδύνῳ.
