Petosiris, the village scribe of Oxyrhynchus, of the division of Polemon, of the nomos of Arsinoites, to Dioscurides, greetings. In the year established for my need of the aforementioned village, since I find the one who was before me in the same need, Horon, having been assigned from the produce of the year, into (wheat) (artabas) and from the same year likewise (wheat) (artabas) and from the seeds placed in the list of barley artabas, which should be provided into the year, and these having been carried into the own, and also before he was established for the need of the aforementioned village, being himself from the reception of the village scribe Tebetnus of the same division, on which he was working.

Petosiris, village scribe (komogrammateus) of Oxyrhyncha in the Polemon division of the Arsinoite nome, to Dioscurides, greetings. Having been appointed in the 32nd year to the administration of the aforementioned village, upon inspection I find that my predecessor in the same office, Horos, has embezzled from the produce of the 30th year, wheat amounting to 500 artabas, and similarly from the produce of the 31st(?) year, wheat amounting to 400 artabas, and from the stored barley seed, 597 artabas, which should have been supplied for the 31st year, and has appropriated these for his own use. Moreover, even before his appointment to the administration of the aforementioned village, when he was acting as deputy for the village scribe Tebetnus of the same division, during which time he was responsible...
The text is a fragmentary papyrus document from Oxyrhynchus, Egypt, written in Koine Greek. It concerns administrative misconduct, specifically embezzlement of grain supplies by a previous official named Horos. The document is addressed by Petosiris, the current village scribe, to Dioscurides, presumably a higher official or authority.
