To Apollonios, strategos of the Arsinoite nome, Herakleides division,
from Petaus, village scribe of Syron and other villages.
Regarding the promise given to you by Tasokmetis, daughter of Pathynes, with her guardian,
her husband Pholemis:
Sokmetis from the village of Syron, wishing to purchase from the properties
offered for sale by the administration (formerly belonging to Pathynes the younger,
son of Sokmas, grandson of Marres), in the village, a third part
of a house, in exchange for which a whole new house and another part
of another house and courtyard in a second location, of which the neighbors of the house are:
to the south, an entrance and exit; to the north, an entrance and exit; to the east,
the house of Pathynes, son of Pathynes, and associates;
to the west, the house of Tasokmenes, son of Pathynes; and
of the part of the house and courtyard, neighbors of the whole are:
to the south, the courtyard of Pathynes, son of Melanchoras, and associates;
to the north, Tompsaitos and the house of Pathynes;
to the east, the house of Sokmenes, son of Pathynes;
to the west, the road of the temple of Sokmetis, the great god; and
(formerly) belonging to Pathynes, son of Sokmetis, who was
grain-collector around the village, a plot of land of 5 1/4 arouras,
(totaling) 5 1/4 arouras, neighbors to the south: Soeres, son of Sokmetis, and associates,
grain-producing lands; to the north: Kialetos, grain-producing lands;
to the east: a traveled embankment; to the west: Sokmas, son of Sokrates,
and associates, public land; the price of the houses being 200 drachmas,
and of the grain-producing lands likewise 200 drachmas,
making a total of 400 drachmas for the confirmation and the following properties.
I declare, after inspection and appraisal, that these properties are entirely ownerless,
unsold, and not worth being publicly auctioned for the 400 drachmas,
from which nothing remains profitable during the five-year period at hand, because they are unproductive.
Year 25 of Marcus Aurelius Commodus Antoninus Caesar, the lord.
