To Lucius Anthestius Germanus, the chief magistrate and gymnasiarch of the city of the Antinoites,
from Cassius, fatherless, whose mother is Taonnophris.
I wish to lease from you the olive and date fruits of the past 13th year, extending into the present 14th year,
from your olive-grove orchard near the village of Philadelphia, consisting of seven arourae (or however many there may be), called "of Julius,"
for a total rent of one thousand seven hundred drachmas of silver,
and additionally one artaba of pressed dried dates measured by the village's date-measure,
and half an artaba of selected black olives measured by the same measure,
and ten two-choinix baskets and four kallunthra-baskets,
without deduction and without risk, all the labor being your responsibility, Anthestius Germanus,
while the irrigation, pollination, harvesting, and guarding are my responsibility as the lessee.
You have already received on account one hundred drachmas from the aforementioned total rent of one thousand seven hundred drachmas,
and I will pay the remaining one thousand six hundred drachmas at the time of harvest,
and I will return the olive-grove orchard pollinated and harvested, if leased (…).
