To the overseer of the guards from Teruetus of Hermopolis. In the year 5, having responded to me, Tetear- mias Thotnachthios of Hermopolis, upon the road of Hermes according to the local court, and having fallen into it, I was struck by the blows of her hands, many blows to my body, having a five-month pregnancy, so that through the wounds I became ill and was in danger of life. I report that, having been brought up, the Tete- armias should be secured until it is known about me in the narrated days, so that if I suffer anything, it may be reported concerning her according to the prescribed matters, but if I survive, I will receive from her what is just as it is fitting.

To the [chief] of the guards from Tereus of the Hermopolite nome. In the 26th(?) year, Tete[ar-]mais, daughter of Thotnachthis, of the Hermopolite nome, having met me on the road of Hermes near the court located there, and having fallen into an argument, struck me repeatedly with her own hands, blows upon various parts of my body, although I was five months pregnant, so that because of these blows I became ill and am bedridden, in danger of my life. I hereby formally request that Tete-armais be brought in and held securely until my case is examined on the appointed days, so that if anything should happen to me, action may be taken against her according to the established regulations concerning these matters; but if I survive, I may receive from her the justice that is due to me.

Farewell.
