To Claudius Apion of the market officials of Alexandria, through Philodespotus, the steward Heron, herdsman of the village of Thea-delphia:
I acknowledge that I have undertaken the dung and the manure of the existing (property) for your sons concerning the village of a certain Spartan named from the incoming of the 11th (year) of the Emperor Hadrian, our lord, regarding the freight charge for the dung — for each donkey eight obols, for the manure — likewise for each donkey eight obols. If I should be fined for the dung, I will repay you the freight charges double; if you should also fine me, I will take the freight charges due to the agreement made.

To Claudius Apion, former agoranomos of Alexandria, through Philodespotos, the manager, from Heron, son of Hermas, livestock breeder of the village of Theadelphia:
I acknowledge that I have contracted for the removal of manure and sand from the vineyard called Spartianus, belonging to your sons near the village, from the incoming sixteenth year of the Emperor Hadrian Caesar, our lord. I agree to receive from you as freight charges: for manure removal, eight obols per donkey for six loads; and similarly for sand removal, eight obols per donkey for eight loads. If I fail to remove the manure, I will pay you double the freight charges. If you penalize me, I will recover the freight charges because we have agreed upon these terms.
